1) What are the consequences of a skiing accident in France?

In France, the costs incurred following a skiing accident are high (on-piste rescue, ambulance) and often have to be paid immediately. In La Plagne, the official rates are displayed at the ski lift ticket offices, at the town hall and on their websites.

All too often, standard insurance policies (particularly those linked to bank cards) have cover limits that are too low to adequately cover these costs and, more importantly, they require you to pay them up front. Travel insurance policies, for their part, are not designed to cover your sporting activities.
