Your specialist insurance cover for skiing in France with Alto-ski

1) First, check the cost of emergency services at your destination ski resort

The costs of a ski accident in France are high, €800, €1,000 and €1,500 are amounts frequently seen in the ski resorts we know. These costs (on-piste rescue costs, ambulance costs...) are public, you will find them at the ski lift ticket office, at the Town Hall, or on their websites.

2) Check then the insurance cover you may already have, and in case you need more, think about Assur'Glisse

Please be cautious; all too often, standard insurance policies (particularly bank cards insurances) have limits that are too low to cover costs of ski accidents adequately, and above all they ask you to pay the costs upfront, and then to await the reimbursement coming too often long weeks (months?) later.

Assur'Glisse cover has been designed by a cooperative company of 120 French ski resorts. It specializes in mountain sports, and means you don't have to pay in advance for rescue and 1st medical transport costs (which are the most expensive costs in the event of an accident). They also offer extensive cover, reimbursing you for example for ski passes and lessons not used after an accident.

Please note: this site is particularly suitable for all skiers who have already purchased their day, holiday or season pass but have not yet taken out ski insurance to accompany it.

These insurance policies are optional extras for your ski pass or sports and leisure activity pass: they cannot be used without a pass or activity pass valid for the same person, the same resort, the same sport and the same validity dates.

-> When you hold a weekly skipass at a ski resort, and this pass allows you to spend a day at another partner ski resort, your are also covered in the event of an accident at the partner resort.
