assuranceski.com is published by Orion Ticket Neige, a cooperative company run by ski area operators and numerous mountain partners (sports clubs, online skipass distributors, local mountain authorities...).

Orion Ticket Neige, a cooperative company in the mountains

At the beginning in 1985, Orion Ticket Neige was an non profit association of ski area operators. Its founders had decided to offer, before anyone else, "on demand" insurance services so that occasional skiers could secure their ski holidays without needing to buy insurance for a year round commitment (and price).

Since 2018, the latest "European Insurance Distribution Directive" has made it impossible for an association to organise an insurance distribution network. Orion Ticket Neige, in order to keep its democratic governance, chose to continue its activities under the cooperative status, and more than that, as a "collective interest cooperative company".

Cooperation between ski resorts operators is used to design specific solutions for mountain sports and leisure activities, to share decisions, to make public sector and commercial activities work together... Every day we seek the right balance between resort visitors comfort, insurance market requirements, regulatory compliance and the security issues faced by local authorities.

By 2023, Orion Ticket Neige has become a network of 124 cooperative shareholders (more than 130 mountain resorts) spread across all the mountain ranges of France. The company is run by a very small team, mainly in charge of the proper implementation of the regulatory requirements applicable to insurance distribution and e-commerce services.

For the full service management of the solutions sold on assuranceski.com, we rely on a powerful insurance expertise provided by WTW Montagne (specialised insurance broker) and Mutuaide (sport and travel insurer and assister, member of Groupama Group).
